BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- China’s housekeeping service industry has maintained a strong momentum in recent years as the industrial scale continued to expand with annual growth rate more than 20 percent, according to the development report released by Chinese Academy of Labor and Social Security.
According to the report, China had released a series of policies in housekeeping service industry in recent two years. In 2016, there were more than 25 million employees for the industry, accounting for 3.3 percent of the country's total.
With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, more and more families can afford socialized housekeeping services. The industry has already released huge demands, which are the new growth points for the economy and employment in China in a near future. It is estimated that the demand for the housekeeping services in China will grow steadily to a population of 50 million in 2025.
The report pointed out that the new business model represented by "Internet +" and chain operation has emerged in recent years, which has had an important impact on the housekeeping service industry.
With the rapid development of China's aging and the implementation of the comprehensive two-child policy, the industry will maintain a rapid growth trend. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
