BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- SAIC Motor (600104.SH) said on July 10 that the company’s annual new energy vehicles (NEV) sales were expected to exceed 600,000 units by 2020.
According to the company, SAIC Motor will invest over 20 billion yuan in the new energy field and launch more than 30 new models of NEVs during the 13th Five-year Plan (2016-2020) period.
SAIC Motor's NEV research and development covers multiple technical routes, such as plug-in hybrid, pure electric, fuel cells, etc., and the company has launched more than 10 new energy automotive products, including passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles, and fully grasped the three core technologies of battery, electronic control, and electric drive.
