BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Workers have completed roof construction of the symbolic China pavilion of the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, the exhibition coordination bureau said Wednesday.
Since July last year, more than 600 construction workers have been building the pavilion, which covers an area of 48,000 square meters.
The bureau also announced the construction plan of the botany pavilion, saying more than 600 types of rare plants are expected to be displayed at the pavilion, which will cover an area of 3,000 square meters.
The 162-day expo will be open on April 29, 2019, in Beijing's Yanqing District. As of December 2017, more than 50 countries and international organizations worldwide have confirmed participation.
The international portion of the exhibition will consist of areas for Europe, Africa, Asia, America and Oceania, as well as an area for International organizations.
During the expo, all countries will have the chance to hold activities such as national days, cultural exhibitions, business communications and professional forums.
