BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China's grain enterprises will be encouraged to strengthen grain trade and industrial cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road routes, according to officials of the State Grain and Reserves Administration at the recent “Belt and Road” Summit Forum for Grain Security held in Lanzhou City, northwest China's Gansu Province.
China will give policy and financial support in the areas of grain circulation and infrastructure construction, encourage and support the domestic grain enterprises to carry out multi-faceted and multi-level food trade and industrial cooperation with the countries along the Belt and Road, said the official.
Gansu is currently constructing the food transporting channels connecting countries along the Belt and Road. In addition to accelerating the construction of a port designated for grain imports in Lanzhou New Area, five grain logistics parks will be built in cities of Lanzhou, Baiyin, Tianshui, Pingliang and Wuwei.
At the 24th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair on July 5, the Grain Industry Association of Gansu Province signed purchase and sale intention agreements with grain enterprises in the countries along the Belt and Road, such as Azerbaijan and Belarus.
The industry insiders said that conditions for grain trade and industrial cooperation between China and the countries along the Belt and Road routes have become increasingly mature. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
