CHENGDU, July 8 (Xinhua) -- "We will take the opportunity of holding the talent development conference to implement a more open talent policy, build a platform for innovation and entrepreneurship and provide a good working and living environment for the talents,” said Jiang Fuyi, secretary of Luzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Jiang pictured the bright prospect of Luzhou’s “rejuvenating the city through talents" strategy in his opening speech at the conference.
Luzhou Talents Development Conference was held in Luzhou City of southwest China’s Sichuan Province from July 6 to 8.
Nearly 800 guests and talents from all over the world attended the conference which mainly focused on emerging industries such as biomedicine, new energy and new materials, smart terminals, aerospace and other traditional industries such as liquor, chemicals and machinery, as well as urban planning, construction and management.
Meanwhile, the conference also centered on such topics as free trade zone construction, rural area revitalization and poverty alleviation to collect talent demands.
At the conference, 3,994 jobs were published in three batches of talent demand catalogues. Among them, 2,410 high-level talents were urgently needed, and 873 talents for rural area revitalization and poverty alleviation were urgently needed.

Catering to Luzhou’s own development needs, the conference organized four special matchmaking activities, including free trade development-smart manufacturing, citizen fitness-biomedicine, military and civilian integration-aerospace, as well as rural revitalization-agriculture and rural areas, attracting nearly 400 top talents (teams) and seeing 58 projects worth 15.28 billion yuan inked during the event.

In addition, China Economic Information Service of Xinhua News Agency, Luzhou City Talent Work Leading Group Office and Luzhou Laojiao Co., Ltd. jointly released a report on development of the rural artisan talent resources in Luzhou during the conference.
The report presented in-depth study of the development status of rural artisans in Luzhou, and explored the ways to build brand of Luzhou rural artisan resources, cultivate rural craftsmen and talents, and realize the industrialization and market-oriented development path of rural artisan talent resources in Luzhou.

Luzhou has put forward the strategy of “rejuvenating the city through talents" since 2017. It has established six overseas talent workstations in Paris, Berlin, London, etc. and 11 talents work contact stations in Shenzhen and other domestic cities.
