HANGZHOU, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese enterprises have grasped business opportunities offered by the 2018 FIFA World Cup to expand global market.
Cixi, a county located in east China’s Zhejiang Province, has seen its exports to 32 World Cup participating countries increase significantly. From January to May, Cixi’s exports to these countries rose 6.6 percent on year to 10.4 billion yuan. Among the total, its exports to Russia grew by 16.2 percent year on year to 620 million yuan.
Insiders believed that the FIFA World Cup provides a golden opportunity for famous enterprises to expand global market and increase brand popularity.
Cixi Sankai Electron Industry Co., Ltd. have received over 700,000 U.S. dollars worth of lighter orders from Russian partner since August 2017.
"As we have obtained the World Cup trademark authorization, our exports to Russia from January to May increased 3.8 times from the same period last year to 890,000 U.S. dollars,” said Lou Bin, general manager of the company.
"It is no doubt that the FIFA World Cup is a good channel for many enterprises to increase their popularity and profits in the short time,” said Yu Jianding, deputy chief of the Cixi bureau of commerce. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
