BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Norinco International Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on a tram project in the city of Qazvin, Iran on July 3, according to report of the Islamic Republic News Agency.
The report said the first phase of the project is from the eastern part of the city to the west to ease the traffic pressure in the city center. The second stage is from the north to the south. The total length of the route is 7.5 kilometers and the total investment is about 150 million U.S. dollars.
As a contractor, NORINCO International will have nearly six months to study the project and implement its plan.
Northern International is a listed company owned by China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO). It is also an important participant to implement the Belt and Road Initiative with its strong competitiveness in contraction of rail transit, power engineering as well as petroleum and mineral facilities.
