BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- China’s big four banks have topped the list of 1000 World Banks 2018 for the first time, released by British magazine The Banker on July 2.
According to the report by Chinanews.com, the top four are the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), China Construction Bank, Bank of China and Agricultural Bank of China.
China's big four banks, along with four American banks, one from the United Kingdom and one from Japan, make up the 10 largest banks of the list.
Yuan Xiaohui, a researcher from Bank of China's Institute of International Finance, noted that the biggest change in the list this year is that Chinese banks have dominated the top four rankings. China's banking industry have surpassed that of the Eurozone and the United States for three years in a row in terms of tier-1 capital, total assets and total pre-tax profits.
