BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project in Indonesia has entered into new phase of development with the construction of 22 controlling works made breakthrough, according to a source with China Railway Corporation.
The working mechanism for project implementation has been basically put in place, and the project licenses, financing and other key conditions have been gradually implemented, according to China Railway Corporation.
Jointly carried out by a China-Indonesia firm consortium, the 142 km-long railway project is expected to shorten the single trip between Indonesia’s capital Jakarta and West Java’s capital Bandung to 40 minutes from more than three hours previously. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
