BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese telecom giant China Unicom revealed during the Mobile World Congress Shanghai (MWCS) that it will build a quality 5G network under the latest international standards and expects to realize commercial use by 2020.
The company's 5G business scale demonstration applications and commercial trials will be carried out in 2019, it said, reported the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.
China Unicom said that the 5G network focuses on eMBB (Enhanced Mobile Broadband) in the early stage and will continue to maintain the company’s network speed advantage in 3G and 4G.
It will provide full range network support for high-traffic, high-bandwidth application such as high-definition video, VR/AR game entertainment, car audio and smart home applications. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
