BEIJING, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Philippine Department of Finance (DOF) recently said that construction of 10 major infrastructure projects with a total cost of 59.76 billion peso are expected to commence construction this year, according to a report by Philippine Star.
These ten projects are included among the 75 infrastructure projects under the ambitious infrastructure program of the Duterte administration.
The largest among these projects is the Mindanao Rail Project Phase 1 of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
With a total cost of 35.26 billion peso, the project will be financed through a loan from China and will involve the construction of 102 kilometers of non-electrified, single-track rail running through Digos, Davao City and Tagum in Region 11.
Also on this year’s list that are Chinese funded are the 4.61 billion peso Binondo-Intramuros Bridge and the 1.37 billion peso Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge projects as well as a 4.37 billion peso Chino River Pump Irrigation Project.
These projects will be implemented under the PPP scheme, according to the report (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
