BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- China will keep the number of the state key laboratories at about 700 by 2020, according to the guideline jointly released by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance.
To be specific, by 2020, the number of the state key laboratories for discipline will be about 300, while that of the state key laboratories of the enterprises will be around 270. The number of the state key laboratories jointly established by the ministries and provincial-level governments will be around 70, said the guideline.
By 2025, a state key laboratory system will be fully completed, with a significant increase in the level of scientific research and international influence. Several laboratories will become the world’s most important scientific centers, take the lead in the development of basic scientific research, and gather a group of strategic and scientific talents and teams with international standards, according to the guideline.
