The recent tax reform and economic growth in the US are so far attracting additional investment from German firms in the world’s largest economy. Over half of German firms (52 percent) that are active in the United States said they want to increase their level of investment there, according to the “World Business Outlook” published by the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK).
The AHK’s report also found that 53 percent of German firms surveyed said they want to hire more employees in the US, while only five percent plan to do with fewer employees there.
As for overall economic expectations, 40 percent of the roughly 5,100 companies surveyed worldwide said they expect to see positive developments locally over the next 12 months.
To be sure, respondents said they observed more obstacles to trade and that political crises were noticeable. “However, Global economic activity is still putting up a good show at the moment,” said the AHK. The German economy continues to benefit from this, they added.
