BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina)’s Asia Pacific headquarters recently signed an EPC contract for a 420 MWde Dau Tieng Photovoltaic solar power plant in Tay Ninh, Vietnam with Xuan Cau Co., Ltd. from Vietnam and B.GRIMM Power PCL. from Thailand.
The project is located in Tay Ninh, a province in the highland plateau in southwestern Vietnam, with a total installed capacity of 420 MW. It was jointly developed by Xuan Cau and Thai investor B.GRIMM Power, and PowerChina assisted the owners in financing.
The project adopts Chinese capital, Chinese general contractor, Chinese standards and Chinese equipment. It is the largest photovoltaic power station in Vietnam and the entire Southeast Asia region. It is also the largest PV project signed by Chinese companies under the Belt and Road Initiative.
China Power Construction entered the Vietnam market in 2000. Currently, it has successfully implemented 56 projects in the country with a contract value of over 1.5 billion U.S. dollars. It has participated in more than 60 percent of Vietnam's power project construction and they were well received by the local government and owners. (Edited by Yang Qi, kateqiyang@xinhua.org)
