At present, Djibouti has no obvious investment access and trade barriers. Djibouti welcomes direct foreign investment and clearly stipulates that there are no restrictions on the share ratio of foreign capital. However, in practice, there are certain proportion restrictions on foreign capital entering port, transportation and other pillar industries, with Djiboutian requiring of at least 51 percent of the shares. In addition, in order to protect local employment, foreign investment in tertiary industries such as insurance, logistics and transportation, customs clearance, etc. is generally required to cooperate with local investors. Water, electricity and other restricted monopoly industries do not allow foreign investment.
