  • Catalogue for the Guidance of Foreign Investment Industries

    The Catalogue for the Guidance of Foreign Investment Industries (Revision 2017) was jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and came into force on July 28, 2017; while the Catalogue of Industries for Guiding Foreign Investment (Revision 2015) issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce on March 10, 2015 was repealed simultaneously.

  • FDI in China (2016)

    Under the backdrop of an active flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) around the globe, China reported a record high of FDI inflow in 2015, despite of the slowdown in its economy. It is a combined result of the country’s efforts in pushing forward the reform of foreign investment approval system, proceeding with the development of pilot free trade zones (FTZ), expanding the areas open to foreign businesses and optimizing foreign investment environment. According to FDI statistics released by local commerce department, China’s top ten destinations for foreign investment in 2015 were Guangdong, Jiangsu, Tianjin, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Anhui, Beijing and Hunan.

  • Fujian Business Environment & Assessment Report (2016)

    Lying in the southeastern coast of China and bordering Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong, Fujian faces Taiwan across the Taiwan Straits and is one of mainland provinces the closest to Southeast Asia and Oceania, as well as an important window and base of China for global exchanges. <br></br> Total permanent population of Fujian reached 38.39 million by the end of 2015, according to the province’s statistical bureau. <br></br> China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was launched in April 2015, together with the other three peers established after one-year successful operation of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, China's first-ever pilot FTZ. <br></br> The province's gross domestic production (GDP) stood at 2.6 billion yuan in 2015, up 9% year on year. Its fixed asset investment was 2.16 trillion billion yuan, representing an increase of 17.2% over 2014. <br></br> People of Fujian are famed for diligence, courage, industry and hospitality. This mountainous province is also renowned for the tradition of starting career in overseas countries, which makes it a famous hometown of overseas Chinese.

    Lying in the southeastern coast of China and bordering Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong, Fujian faces Taiwan across the Taiwan Straits and is one of mainland provinces the closest to Southeast Asia and Oceania, as well as an important window and base of China for global exchanges. Boasting a long history, Fujian was called the Region of Minyue during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Prefecture of Min-Zhong during Qing Dynasty. In the middle of Tang Dynasty, the post of Fujian Military Commissioner was established, and the province was hereafter called Fujian. The brief name of Fujian, "Min", is derived from Min River, the greatest river within the province. Covering a land area of 121,400 square kilometers and a sea area of 136,000 square kilometers, Fujian governs Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Putian, Longyan, Sanming, Nanping and Ningde, as well as 85 subordinated counties, county-level cities and districts if Jinmen included.
