BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has recently unveiled standards for the magnesium industry to promote high-quality development of the industry.
The standards covers requirement for the magnesium production quality, craftsmanship and equipment, energy consumption, comprehensive utilization of resources, etc.
Magnesium smelting enterprises should have a recovery rate of not less than 80 percent, with the silicon utilization rate of more than 75 percent, according to the industry standards.
It has also set strict standards for environmental protection in the magnesium industry and asked the magnesium mines and smelting enterprises to promote clean production.
The industry standards will be implemented from March 30, 2020, according to MIIT. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
