February 20, 2020

Abstract : The customs and railway departments in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have facilitated customs clearance procedures to ensure steady operation of China-Europe freight trains passing through the Manzhouli port amid the epidemic outbreak, reported Chinanews.com Wednesday.

BEIJING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The customs and railway departments in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region have facilitated customs clearance procedures to ensure steady operation of China-Europe freight trains passing through the Manzhouli port amid the novel coronavirus epidemic outbreak, reported Chinanews.com Wednesday.

As China's largest land port located on the border of China and Russia, Manzhouli port has seen 265 freight trains carrying a total of 24,144 TEUs passing through by February 18, according to the China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd.

With the resumption of work and production by enterprises from the suspension due to the epidemic, abundant import and export goods were transported by the China-Europe freight trains, including household products, electrical products, industrial machinery, metals, chemicals, agricultural products, as well as foods.

By far, 52 routes are connecting the Manzhouli port with 28 cities in 13 European countries. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
