Abstract : An integrated platform of e-administration is expected to start full operation in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region next month, aimed to press ahead digital and intelligent governments at all levels in the south China and enhance capability of modernized governance as well.

NANNING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- An integrated platform of e-administration is expected to start full operation in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region next month, aimed to press ahead digital and intelligent governments at all levels in the south China  and enhance capability of modernized governance as well, government officials said at a press conference held here early this week.

Chen Jiehao, assistant director of Guangxi Bigdata Development Bureau, said Guangxi's integrated platform of  e-administration, which has been put into trial run since the end of September, serves as an essential hub of the province's overall government affairs, and a mainstay system to maximize internet and artificial intelligence's  convenience and minimize the public's difficulty to deal with government affairs.

According to Chen, the platform is based on single cloud computing service, connects governments at all levels and their various departments, shares the data at the same data pool, digitalizes government departments' duty so as to enhance efficiency and form synergy on dealing with particular government affairs, and provides integrated security solutions, which better solves problems such as scattered resources, system separation and information gap.

Qian Kun with Guangxi Bigdata Development Bureau's E-Administration Unit said that backed up by the platform, a government affairs’ portal website, a mobile APP and OA system would be built to further integrate online and offline administration services and form a new service model which is easy, swift, convenient and open.

Furthermore, e-seal, e-document, e-archive system will also rolle out in the future to carry out electronic examination and approval on some government issues, or even carry out AI examination and approval system to simplify the procedure. Data sharing and exchange will also see a great deal of improvement, according to Qian.

In the next stage, Guangxi is to constitute an open eco-system for government data application and encourage various enterprises, research centers and social capitals to participate in the eco-system, safely and controllably, said the official.

In recent years, Guangxi has attached much importance to develop its digital economy. Digital government is only the latest achievement of the south China province’s digital transformation effort.

Guangxi earlier released that from 2018 to 2025, about 100 billion yuan would be invested in building the China-ASEAN Information Hub, which is a national key project and the flagship project for Guangxi's digital economic development.

In early September, over 100 AI-related companies across the world participated in the First China-ASEAN AI Summit held in Nanning, including digital technology big names such as Huawei, Aliyun, Tencent, JD.com, Inspur Group, iFLYTEK, Haier, Suning, GREE. (Edited by Qiu Jun, Qiujun@xinhua.org)
