Triboo thinks green to grow in the Chinese market

MILAN, Sept. 2 (Class Editori) - The path to the future of fashion is traced and leads to a world where digital and green economy represent the two tracks within which creativity will be free to move. MFF spoke about it in conversation with Giangiacomo Corno, vice-president of Triboo, a Milanese company listed on the stock exchange market, with revenues of €69.6 million in 2018, an EBITDA of €9.9 million and a net result of €2.2 million.

At the end of last year, the development of the new flagship stores of Alberta Ferretti and Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini was secured (Moschino was already in portfolio). Today it can count about 40 fashion brands. The strategy led to the opening of Triboo Shanghai trading, which already manages several stores on the main Chinese marketplaces.

How are the new generations influencing the dynamics of online purchasing?

Millennials will represent about 50% of the market in the coming years. Our Meet your future research, carried out in collaboration with Studentville and University box, reveals that over 70% of the members of the Z generation and of the Millennials make online purchases. Their attention for brand values, ethical and environmental issues is also growing.

Does computer sustainability exist?

Today, green computing has expanded, with a growing focus on server farms and data centers. More generally, today not only companies but also new generations are increasingly sensitive to environmental issues. Triboo lives sustainability as one of its fundamental values. We have adopted green measures and we ourselves are an instrument for raising awareness on environmental issues, with GreenStyle.

Which sector works best on e-commerce?

Fashion is among the protagonists with perfumes, cosmetics and accessories. An interesting trend is the use of augmented reality, which one day, perhaps very soon, will allow you to shop through the mirrors of our closets by virtually wearing the products.

On average, 8% of fashion revenues come from online shopping. The figure is expected to grow, but there is an insurmountable threshold?

For Triboo, the possibility of growth for fashion is above all in direct control over the various online sales channels: not only the online stores owned by the brands but also multi-brand online stores and generalist e-commerce platforms.
